Heartsaver CPR AED Course Overview

The Heartsaver CPR AED course equips participants with the skills to perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely, effectively, and promptly. This training aligns with the latest science and education updates from the American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who Should Take This Course?

The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is ideal for individuals with limited or no medical training who need a course completion card for CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

What You Will Learn

• The importance of high-quality CPR in improving survival rates
• The Chain of Survival and its significance
• How to recognize when CPR is needed
• Performing high-quality CPR for adults
• Working with others to provide CPR effectively
• Delivering breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
• Using an AED on adults and children
• Performing high-quality CPR for children*
• Performing high-quality CPR for infants*
• Recognizing and assisting choking adults and children
• Assisting choking infants*

(*Child and infant CPR, AED use, and choking assistance are optional modules that may be included in the course.)

This course is designed to provide hands-on practice and real-world scenarios to ensure participants feel confident and prepared to respond in an emergency.
